Katie served as the Colorado House Majority’s communications director under Speakers Andrew Romanoff and Terrance Carroll. She has worked with women’s health organizations like Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance, Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains and Planned Parenthood–Miami, as well as advocacy organizations such as NARAL Pro-Choice America and Public Interest Research Group in Colorado and Massachusetts. And even when the odds and hours are long, she is energized by a good Democratic candidate, participating in countless campaigns, from Paul Simon’s 1988 Presidential race to 2016 Colorado legislative campaigns.

For three years, she owned and operated a frozen yogurt shop, often proudly calling it “Katie’s Youth Employment Agency.” A Colorado College graduate and an active community volunteer, Katie is involved with several organizations, including Habitat for Humanity and Life After East HS which helps “first-gen” students navigate the college application process.
