Michelle Dally, J.D.
A former Pulitzer-prize winning reporter for the Denver Post, legislative aide for a U.S. Senator and Georgetown Law grad, Michelle is professional, fast as a whip and has a wicked sense of humor. But she's not intimidating--she fosters pregnant and sick dogs for the Denver Dumb Friends League and The Max Fund! Now a CSU vet school student, she doesn't have much time to devote to PR, but can be available for just the right project. More...
Michelle is a recovering lawyer and former award-winning journalist with lightening sharp wit and a heart of gold. After writing A Highly Placed Source, a rollicking tale of politics, the media and family dysfunction (published in 2007), she decided she wanted to use her media and writing talents to promote the "good guys," the progressive nonprofits that make Colorado a better place to live and raise a family. Her professional credentials are impressive:
- Pulitzer-prize winning journalist (Denver Post, shared for Columbine coverage, awarded 2000)
- Six years of experience handling public relations, web design and content, marketing and media relations for numerous nonprofits
- Fourteen years of experience in writing for national and statewide media, including regular publication in U.S. News and World Report, the Denver Post and Health Magazine.
- Political columnist: Rhode Island Monthly, 5280 magazine and the Denver Post
- Adjunct Professor of Journalism, Denver University, 2004
- Assistant Professor of Journalism, Metro State College, 2000-2001
- J.D. Georgetown University, Cum Laude, 1986
- B.A. Political Science, University of Rhode Island, Highest Distinction, Phi Beta Kappa, Pi Sigma Alpha, Political Science Award, 1983
As one of the founders of the Downtown Animal Care Foundation, Michelle currently serves as the board president. She is also a dedicated volunteer for the Denver Dumb Friends League, the Max Fund and Planned Pethood. As a full-time veterinary student at Colorado State University, she doesn't have much time for PR, but she'll come out of "retirement" for just the right project!
Michelle is married to Brian, a bilingual general contractor, and together they preside (sort of) over a blended family of four boys (Tucker, Jordan, Taylor and Nick) and three dogs (Samson, Bolillo and Gracie).
